Cars - Terms & Conditions

AGE REQUIREMENT: For all vehicle groups, the minimum age of the driver must be 24 years old and the maximum age 68 years old.

YOUNG DRIVER'S SURCHARGE: Young driver surcharge allows customers aged 19 - 21 years old to rent a category Mini Cars and Economy Cars vehicle. Also for Drivers 22 - 24 to rent a car from Mini Cars, Economy Cars, City Cars and Entry Level Convertible Cars. Both age groups are required to hold a driver’s license for at least 12 months prior to the pickup day.

• For Drivers between 19 and 21 years old the surcharge for Mini Cars and Economy Cars is € 10/day including Standard Insurance.
  Drivers between 19 and 21 years old are entitled to rent vehicles belonging only to the aforementioned categories. Rentals of vehicles belonging to other vehicle categories will be refused and cancelled.
• For Drivers between 22 and 24 years old the surcharge for Mini Cars, Economy Cars, City Cars, Entry Level Convertible Cars is € 8/day including Standard Insurance.
  Drivers between 22 and 24 years old are entitled to rent vehicles belonging only to the aforementioned categories. Rentals of vehicles belonging to other vehicle categories will be refused and cancelled.

SENIOR DRIVER'S SURCHARGE: Senior driver’s surcharge allows customers aged 68 - 76 years old to rent a category Mini Cars, Economy Cars, City Cars and Entry Level Convertible Cars vehicle.

• For Drivers between 68 and 76 years old the surcharge for Mini Cars, Economy Cars, City Cars and Entry Level Convertible Cars is € 10/day including Standard Insurance.
  Drivers between 68 and 76 years old are entitled to rent vehicles belonging only to the aforementioned categories. Rentals of vehicles belonging to other vehicle categories will be refused and cancelled.

STANDARD INSURANCE: All authorized drivers of Auto Traffic Rentals vehicles are covered against damages from Fire to the rented vehicle, and Liability Insurance to Third Party death, injury, and property.

SUPER COLLISION DAMAGE WAIVER (SCDW - Excess): Covers theft or damage resulting from an accident to the rental vehicle. The renter’s liability for theft or damage to the rented vehicle (excess), can be reduced, under the condition that the Greek Traffic Law is not violated. Any violation of the Greek Traffic Law resulting to an accident renders the SCDW - Excess Void and Standard Insurance applies. Damages caused to the underside, wheels and tires of the vehicle are not covered by any insurance.

• Drivers between 19 and 21 years old may reduce the excess for:
  1. Mini Cars to € 1200 with a daily charge of € 8/day
  2. Economy Cars to € 1200 with a daily charge of € 8/day

Any violation of the Greek Traffic Law resulting to an accident renders the SCDW - Excess Void and Standard Insurance applies.

• Drivers between 22 and 24 years old may reduce the excess for:
  1. Mini Cars to € 1200 with a daily charge of € 8/day
  2. Economy Cars to € 1200 with a daily charge of € 8/day
  3. City Cars to € 1200 with a daily charge of € 8/day
  4. Entry Level Convertible Cars to € 1200 with a daily charge of € 10/day

• Drivers between 24 and 67 years old may reduce the excess for:
  1. Mini Cars to € 250 with a daily charge of € 8/day
  2. Economy Cars to € 250 with a daily charge of € 8/day
  3. City Cars to € 250 with a daily charge of € 8/day
  4. Entry Level Convertible Cars to € 250 with a daily charge of € 10/day
  5. Hatchbacks to € 250 with a daily charge of € 10/day
  6. Family Cars to € 250 with a daily charge of € 10/day

Any violation of the Greek Traffic Law resulting to an accident renders the SCDW - Excess Void and Standard Insurance applies.

• Drivers between 24 and 67 years old may reduce the excess for:
  1. Low Budget Convertible Cars to € 800 with a daily charge of € 12/day
  2. Mid-Range Convertible Cars to € 500 with a daily charge of € 10/day
  3. Premium Convertible Cars to € 1200 with a daily charge of € 15/day
  4. 5 Seater Mini Vans to € 600 with a daily charge of € 12/day
  5. 7 Seater Mini Vans to € 600 with a daily charge of € 12/day
  6. 9 Seater Mini Vans to € 1200 with a daily charge of € 15/day
  7. Low Budget SUVs to € 600 with a daily charge of € 12/day
  8. Mid-range SUVs to € 900 with a daily charge of € 15/day
  9. Premium SUVs to € 1200 with a daily charge of € 15/day

• Drivers between 68 and 76 years old may reduce the excess for:
  1. Mini Cars to € 1200 with a daily charge of € 8/day
  2. Economy Cars to € 1200 with a daily charge of € 8/day
  3. City Cars to € 1200 with a daily charge of € 8/day
  4. Entry Level Convertible Cars to € 1200 with a daily charge of € 10/day

Any violation of the Greek Traffic Law resulting to an accident renders the SCDW - Excess Void and Standard Insurance applies.

INSURANCE NOTICE (Cases Not Covered By Insurance): In the event of a violation of Greek Traffic Laws (such as running a red light, DUI, ignoring a stop sign, etc.) resulting in an accident, the Super Collision Damage Waiver (SCDW - Excess) will be rendered void. Under such circumstances, only the conditions of the Standard Insurance will apply. In the event of an accident, the renter should not under any circumstances leave the scene, or the insurance will be rendered void. Should an accident occur the render must contact Auto Traffic Rentals via Telephone or WhatsApp at +30 694 570 4344. Off - Road driving is not covered by insurance. Only drivers who are listed in our contracts are insured and allowed to drive our vehicles. In case of damage from concession of the vehicle to any other unauthorized driver the renter is fully responsible.

RETURN POLICY & PENALTIES: The vehicle must be returned punctually to avoid delay fees of € 15 per hour. A grace period of 29 minutes is allowed. The interior of vehicle must be returned in the same condition as when it was picked up. A penalty of € 40 will be charged for excessive interior soiling (e.g. sand from the beach, spilled food or drinks, vomit, used diapers, etc.).

FUEL POLICY: Renter pays for fuel and returns car with the same fuel level. Refill costs may apply if the level is lower. Any excess fuel at return will not be subject to reimbursement.

IMPROPER USE OF VEHICLE: If any staff member observes the renter engaging in reckless or inappropriate behavior while operating the vehicle, the company reserves the right to immediately reclaim the vehicle without any compensation or refund to the renter.

MINIMUM RENTAL DURATION: 2 days for online bookings in the resort of Kalamaki and 5 days for other resorts. Minimum rental duration may vary upon agreement.

TRAFFIC FINES & ADMIN FEES: In case of a traffic fine, the renter is obliged to provide Auto Traffic Rentals with a copy of the payment receipt. If the renter fails to inform Auto Traffic Rentals about any traffic fine they received, the fine will be forwarded through the relevant embassy.

EXTENDED SERVICES

• Additional Driver: € 3/day for the first 7 days. After that € 0/day.
• Baby Seats: € 4/day for the first 7 days. After that € 0/day.
• ISOFIX Baby Seats: € 7/day for the first 7 days. After that € 0/day.
• Booster Seats: € 2/day for the first 7 days. After that € 0/day.

BOOKING & CANCELLATION: All bookings must be confirmed by office staff to be valid. The booking is considered valid upon receiving an Order and Confirmation Number from Auto Traffic Rentals staff. Renters may cancel, but the deposit is not refundable.

FLEET AVAILABILITY & VEHICLE REPLACEMENT: Company may replace vehicle with similar/equivalent model.

OFF-ISLAND USAGE (ZAKYNTHOS): The use of any vehicle outside the island of Zakynthos is generally prohibited unless written authorization has been obtained from Auto Traffic Rentals upon agreement. It applies only to Mini Cars, Economy Cars and City Cars vehicles for a maximum of 5 days.

THEFT & LOSS: Keys and radio are not covered by insurance; renter is liable.
ROAD ASSISTANCE: Included during Office Hours (from 07:30 to 22:00). Extra charges may apply outside these hours. Contact via Telephone or WhatsApp at +30 694 570 4344.

DELIVERY AND COLLECTION: Free of charge for deliveries and collections from Zakynthos Airport, our offices, and the resort of Kalamaki (4 days minimum rental). A fee of € 60 applies for delivery or collection at St. Nicholas Port (Volimes) (7 days minimum rental). For all other resorts, a surcharge may apply depending on location.

PAYMENT METHOD: For all groups a valid Credit/Debit Card (American Express not accepted) is accepted by Auto Traffic Rentals. Bank transfer and/or cash is also an available option.

PENALTIES

• Late Return: € 15/hour. It applies after the return time that the renter specified on the booking form during the booking process.
• Excessive Interior Soiling: € 40.
• Unpaid Traffic Fines: Failure to report and present fine and proof of payment will result in administrative charges.
• Lost or Damaged Keys/Radio: Not Covered by insurance; full replacement cost charged to the renter.

FINAL NOTES: All prices are valid exclusively for internet bookings. Prices for walk-in bookings may vary. Auto Traffic Rentals reserves the right to deny a booking. In the event of any disputes, the courts of Zakynthos, Greece shall have jurisdiction.
